LiveDove Media was spending hours every week manually pulling Meta Ads performance data, pasting it into spreadsheets, and building reports for clients. We automated the full pipeline: daily data pulls from Meta Ads API into Google Sheets, then live Looker Studio dashboards that clients can access 24/7. No more manual exports. No more static PDFs.

The Problem

The team was spending their best hours building reports instead of improving campaigns.

For every client, the reporting cycle was the same: log in to Meta Ads Manager, pull the data for the reporting period, copy it into a spreadsheet, build charts, format everything, and email the report. Repeat weekly or monthly per client.

This process was costing 5–10 hours per week across the client base — time that should have been spent on campaign optimisation, creative testing, and client strategy. Clients were receiving static PDFs that were already out of date by the time they arrived. Questions like "how did we perform yesterday?" couldn't be answered without another manual pull.

As the agency added more clients, the reporting burden grew proportionally. There was no way to scale without the reporting load becoming unmanageable.

What We Built

A fully automated reporting pipeline: daily data pulls from Meta Ads API into Google Sheets, connected live to Looker Studio dashboards for each client.

Daily automated data pull (Apps Script)

Google Apps Script runs on a scheduled daily trigger. It connects to the Meta Ads API, pulls all performance metrics for each client account — spend, impressions, reach, clicks, CTR, CPM, CPC, conversions, ROAS — and writes them to Google Sheets. No manual login, no copy-paste.

Google Sheets as live data layer

Sheets acts as the staging database between Meta and Looker Studio. As new data is written each day, Looker Studio automatically refreshes its connection.

Looker Studio client dashboards

Each client gets a branded, interactive Looker Studio dashboard. They can view performance by date range, compare periods, drill into campaigns and ad sets, and see key KPIs at a glance. Accessible 24/7 — no waiting for a report, no emailing for updates.
